OOTDs: a Period of Indifference

I realise now that I’m not in the best financial situation so if you or a friend needs a website, I’m offering layouts for as low as $20 and I’d really like to help! In the meantime, I will not be buying anything new until I can get my savings back on its feet.

That’s why this blog post is titled “A Period of Indifference.” I’m trying not to think about it!

Anyway, here are some OOTDs from the past week:

Sweater by Sourpuss
Sweater: Sourpuss Clothing

I was pretty disappointed I couldn’t buy any more spooky Christmas sweaters this winter but am so glad I do have the ones I have from Sourpuss! I paired this one up with a basic velvet skirt and some booties and I think it looked really cute. I’m pretty sure I’ve done similar outfits before but you can’t go wrong with this one!

Dress by Pinup Girl Clothing
Dress: Pinup Girl Clothing
Shoes: Bettie Page Clothing

I got this dress for Christmas and even though I absolutely love the black harlequin print, it fits weirdly and the fabric is much stiffer than I thought it would be. It stays in whatever position you put it in, which would be great if you don’t want a flowy skirt effect. Alas, I really think it’s cute and will try to wear it more often.
My feet hurt from wearing a new pair of shoes so I decided to go on some short heels, but it would definitely look cute with a bunch of other shoes.

I have a very busy week ahead of me so I’m not sure if I can blog next week but I will definitely try. Until next time!

OOTDs: Drastically Windy Days

The holidays are almost here and I can’t wait! I love shopping for Christmas presents and decorating the house, amongst other things.

In case the title of this post didn’t give it away, it has been incredibly windy this past weekend. Leaves are flying everywhere, which I find beautiful.

Anyways, here are this week’s outfits:

MoonMaiden Gothic, Emerald Angel
Top: MoonMaiden Gothic
Skirt: Emerald Angel

In the photograph, the contrast in light reflection between the velvet and cotton is more apparent than it was in person. I wasn’t sure how these two pieces would go together but I liked the subtle witchy-ness of the outfit. And that’s actually one of my favourite skirts – it was made in cotton instead of satin for me so I could wear it more often!

Shoes by Pinup Couture

Sweater: Sourpuss
Shoes: Pinup Girl Clothing

I love this outfit and how it’s very vintage feeling but still spooky, if you will. I’d really like to get more vintage-style clothing, especially since I work so much (and vintage-style is actually work-acceptable). Also I just bought a tonne of clothes from Sourpuss and I can’t wait for them to arrive!

For all you Americans, I hope you have a lovely Thanksgiving holiday! Stay happy & warm.

OOTDs: It’s Almost Halloween!

Tomorrow’s Halloween and I’m pretty excited. The weather is beautiful, my family has bought a tonne of chocolate, and I have a lot of my life planned out for the next few weeks. Also, I’m a bit late but hopefully I can snag some Halloween decorations in clearance before they go away. I went to a craft store to get some paint today and they had all their Christmas stuff out – blegh! I don’t like doing anything Christmas-y before Thanksgiving.

Anyway here are some outfits from this week.

Moon Maiden Gothic with Pinup Girl Clothing
Dress: MoonMaiden Gothic
Belt: Pinup Girl Clothing (came with a dress)
Lipstick: “Teddy Bear” by Lime Crime

I liked the simplicity of this look and I sported purple lips for the first time in over a year. I was so happy to find a colour that didn’t look too jarring on me, but that also wasn’t in the family of red. I’ll be doing a Lime Crime swatch post soon, but I have only four of their shades currently and want to get more first.

Sourpuss with Corvus Corone Fashion
Sweater: Sourpuss
Skirt: Corvus Corone Fashion

Again, I went simple but I quite liked the look. I love the handkerchief-hemmed skirts I get from Corvus Corone! It was also a bit warm the day I wore this, so it was nice to not need an additional jacket – I can’t find any of mine.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Halloween tomorrow!
